Sara's full firsthand review

I had the chance to try out Bayou City Seafood & Pasta earlier this week. Came here to have dinner with friends on a chilly Monday night. The outside of the restaurant looks quite shabby like a barbeque restaurant. The interior is casual, relaxed and dimly lit. I found my friends sitting towards the back of the restaurant.. gathered around a large table. It was easy to spot them.. the place is not too big. My friends and I were greeted warmly by the host and servers. The menu is quite simple.. mostly consisting of seafood items, such as crawfish, shrimp, and crab. The menu also boasts large platters of pasta, sandwiches/burgers and a few poultry items. I wasn't too hungry so I decided on the crab bisque. It was freezing that night so a big bowl of soup seemed ideal. Most of our group ordered crawfish, pasta, and a few appetizers. I enjoyed the spinach and artichoke dip which came with crisp tortilla chips, as well as the fried pickles. Everything came out bubbly, hot and fresh. I thought the crab bisque was okay. It was creamy yet had a strong taste for my liking and was salty. The complimentary garlic bread was salty as well. Most seafood restaurants in my experience add a bit too much salt in their food. Not the biggest fan of that. My friends seemed to enjoy their meal. Dessert cleaned the savory palette, as we all dug into our own bowls of rich chocolaty bread pudding. The bread pudding was perfect. Sweet, creamy and warm. I really enjoyed the chocolate flavor as well as the hints of cinnamon in the dessert. If I decide to visit again, I might try their crab cake sandwich or one of the pasta items. Prices are steep as they serve generous portions of fresh seafood. Again, as mentioned, great service and warm staff. Give this place a try and sea (see) for yourself.
