“Organic, vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free options? Awesome.”
Sara's full firsthand review
Organic, vegetarian, vegan, raw and gluten free options? Awesome. Harvest Grille has a brilliant concept that is relevant to what the Houston crowd is looking for these days. When it comes to dining out, a restaurant that is able to appeal any type of diner/eater is a major plus for me. Some people have food restrictions or are intolerant to certain food ingredients. At Harvest, you'll be able to find a meal that is suitable for just about anyone. The interior environment of the restaurant is warm and rustic. It would be equally lovely to dine in here during winter and enjoy a nourishing meal. There are several Mediterranean food items that are unique and flavourful. I have tried the Red Lentil veggie patties that consist of red lentils and bulgur (cracked wheat). It is a dish that is hearty and plentiful. There is an extensive juice menu that is worth looking over. I tried this green detox juice which was quite refreshing. I could feel the vitamins seeping through my body. If you're looking for which soup to eat before your entree, I recommend the Artichoke soup. It is creamy and has a subtle yet comforting taste. For the appetizer, I tried the stuffed mushroom, which had a mashed potato topping, spinach, and cheese on top. It is quite filling as mushroom tends to have a dense flavour. As my main entree, I had the sock-eye Salmon with a side of Broccolini. I thought the Salmon was just okay. It was a bit dry for my liking - and had a tough appeal when I ate it. I had to chew quite thoroughly when eating the Salmon. The flavour of the Salmon was very plain as well. There was a lemon butter sauce that came on the side, which I poured over the Salmon. The sauce helped somewhat to give the Salmon a bit more flavour. The Broccolini were plainly steamed and had no flavour to them as well. I didnt mind too much about my main entree. I know the dish was meant for its simplicity, so it didnt bother me too much. For dessert, I tried the vegan cake, which mostly consisted of nuts, some agave nectar, and a fruit sauce. It was different - but I liked it. A vegan cake such as that is worth trying, especially if you've never tried a vegan dessert, and are curious about it. I doused my meal with some relaxing chamomile tea. All in all, I enjoyed my time spent at Harvest Grill. I'm looking forward to trying out the other dishes as well.
