Sara's full firsthand review

The Indonesian food is tasty over here.. It is flavourful and not too spicy. Every dish has its own unique appeal to it. The family that owns this restaurant are very friendly and welcoming. The only downside is that there are no descriptions or pictures on the menu. So it makes it a bit difficult on choosing what to order. If you're not familiar with Indonesian food and are not sure what to eat here, you can always ask the staff for suggestions. They are great at giving suggestions and know what will please their customers. I'm quite familiar with Indonesian food, so I didnt have a hard time choosing what I wanted to eat. I ordered the chicken satay that came with a luscious peanut sauce. It was probably the best chicken satay that ive ever ate. It was moist, chewy, and full of flavour. I also ordered the nasi goreng which came with chunks of lamb. It was a stir-fried rice dish that was full of fragrance and spice. Another dish I ordered was the meatball soup which was chock full of spinach and thin rice noodles. It was hearty and nutritious. The last dish was the beef rendang entree that came with a stewed beef dish, steamed rice, egg with chili, and stewed vegetables. I enjoyed the beef rendang, but wished that there was more beef on the plate. Other than that, the beef was fragrant and full of flavour. The vegetables had a similar taste and were good as well. All in all, I enjoyed my meal and my experience at Mama Yu. I'm looking forward to trying their other dishes as well. :) Perhaps the mei goreng (stir fried egg noodles) Think of ramen, but a more exotic version of it.
